Day 49 - Calculating The Completion

Yet another start at the crack of dawn proves no issue in the increasing heat in southern France with the finishing line in Nice inching closer by the day. Some awkard encounters in the morning do little to hinder progress en route to the ski resort of Auron for lunch. Though restocking proves challenging with many a closed shop, an adequte break gives enough energy to hike on for several hours. A brief stop for a pint later, the day's final ascent leads past a flock of sheep guarded by "patous". Hopeful to be outside their territory and with visibility becoming an issue, a rare flat spot is found to pitch for the night.
