Connecting Lakes
Day 31 - Grand Perserverance
Following a surprisingly good night’s rest on the gusty shores in Yverdon, the heavy load is hoisted back in place as the walk commences in the early morning sunshine. The hiking path connecting Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Geneva on the adapted Swiss version of the GR5 proves to be less enduring than anticipated. A mixture of hiking trails, cycling paths and suburban roads allow for steady progress. Fountains and rivers consistently make cold refreshments possible. With the target in view, it becomes more of a limp across the finishing line than the previous day, somewhat understandable given the circumstances. With the tent set up again and dinner consumed on the lakefront, an early night in beckons following the sunset.
