Day 45 - Never ending hike

A stunning view awaits the hiker upon his early start to the day. With everything packed up by 6am, the longest day of traversing the Alps gets off to a cold start. A few stops in the morning to get changed, freshen up and refuel make progress seem interrupted though also smooth. Upon arriving in the hugely impressive town of Briançon in the late afternoon, thunder roars from a neigbouring valley. With supplies for the night and the following day strapped to the pack, the day’s ambitious final ascent is undertaken until the legs start to give way. A narrow, desolate and overgrown patch is the best that can be found to offer a relatively flat surface for the night.
