Crossroads Decision

GR5

Day 46 - Sensible Choices

A night disrupted by the constant barking of guard dogs in the distance from midnight onwards leaves the hiker feeling physically and mentally tired on the day's first ascent. The seldom but wise choice of lunch at an Italian restaurant reveals a grey sky with first drops starting to fall shortly thereafter. At a crossroads, a detour that adds four hours to the total trip is chosen to avoid tenting in the mountains. A quaint and simple hotel enables a comfortable night's sleep and a much needed shower.
